I was looking around on the Internet and somehow ended up looking at earrings made out of Sculpey clay.
So, I decided to try making some of my own. They were fun, but hard to make and they didn't quite turn out right, but they're still cute. I accidently made them so that they hang wrong ( they face to the side instead of straight on), so that's something that I need to adjust. Now that I've made a few, I have discovered the improvements that I can make so that if I do any more, they'll be better than the last batch. I looked at pictures of earrings that look like food (and are made out of polymer, or Sculpey clay). They are really cute, so I'm hoping to make some that are similar.

Do you like historical fiction? Historical fiction is a story that takes place during a time in history but most of the characters are fictional. Historical fiction can also incorporate real characters into the story, people who were actually alive at the time. This genre of literature requires a lot of research and work if you are going to present accurate information. Sometimes an author will visit museums and libraries to hunt for more facts.
I like historical fiction and enjoyed reading this particular book (pictured above). I really like the books written by this author. She has also written some fantasy stories, which I enjoyed. I have not read all of her books though. I LOVE looking at other people's drawings. I like seeing what other people have made and it gives me new ideas. I thought you might like to see some of my sketchbook drawings, just to see some of my experiments and old drawings.
So, I pulled out a bunch of my sketchbooks (not quite all of them) and took pictures of some of the drawings. The pictures are arranged with the drawings roughly oldest to newest, going from top to bottom. The first picture was obviously drawn awhile ago, but the rest of the drawings were drawn over the past several years. The last three drawings were done recently. I used to use my sketchbooks for my best drawings, but now I mostly use them for quick or small drawings, or to practice or test a new idea. Some of (or most of) these drawings are not the best, but I can see that I have improved a lot and I also have a lot to improve. It's really fun to look back at all my old drawings. I think I'm still drawing the same things, cats, the rooms inside a house (with tons of fun details), animals, and landscapes! Copper is SO naughty to the cats! They usually run away, but not Blacky. He hits back, which makes Copper think it's even more fun.
I've been wanting to do this for awhile. I've taken down most of my old decorations and now I wanted to put this up. I found some jute string at Dollar General and then my mom helped me put it up. We didn't really measure anything, we just put it where we wanted it. We centered it above my bed because Sarah wanted the same thing above her bed but hers had to be right above her bed because she doesn't have as much wall space.
We held the string up and positioned it how we wanted it, then put in a nail. We continued working downward, putting in nails to create the zigzag. To secure the string, we tied it on the top nail, wrapped it one around the middle nails and once we reached the final nail, we cut it and tied it around the nail. I used clothes pins to hang up my pictures. I'm hoping to get some of my photographs printed so I can hang them up. |
