This post is about creating characters and thinking about their strengths and weaknesses. It is based off a class on creating compelling characters by Caroline Starr Rose.
Traits To Consider When Creating A Character

We have a premium membership at Read Aloud Revival (a website with book recommendations) and with the membership, you get to watch videos of authors talking about writing. I really enjoy writing, so I've watched quite a few and these are some of the writing tips that I've learned:
Stories are about a main character who goes on an amazing adventure. A story has three parts, the beginning, the middle and the end. Think of it as a pie, cut into three pieces. The beginning and end are smaller pieces and the middle is the biggest. These become the three acts of the story, this is how most stories go and this can help you write your story
Also, let me know in the comments if you liked this post and would like to see more like this (there is still a lot of other info that I found helpful for writing. Another post I could do is on creating compelling characters for your story. Other topics are: revision and writing with details.) |
